Our preschool curriculum is designed to create a holistic learning environment for our two and three year olds. It introduces them to letters, letter sounds and mathematical concepts.
Enhanced by hands-on math, science, art, music, bible stories and physical activities, this well-rounded program offers something for each child. Motor skills are also an important part of the learning process as children are introduced to a variety of activities that help strengthen large and fine motor skills.
Our program provides a balance of positive learning and play, realizing that play is how children learn about their world. Play is essential to development because it contributes to the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being of children. Children gain self-confidence as they independently explore learning centers equipped with activities that support their development. Nurturing children’s natural curiosity can lead to a lifetime love of learning.
The four and five year old students continue their learning with a fun and challenging prekindergarten curriculum. Students work on phonemic awareness and pre-reading skills that prepare them to read by the end of the year. A combination of reading, writing, math, science, social studies, bible lessons and art activities help build a solid foundation that will help them transition into kindergarten successfully.
Your child will be given the time and attention required to provide a solid foundation for a lifetime of continued learning. Our high academic standards are combined with a developmentally appropriate learning environment that recognizes the importance of play in early childhood. Children are provided ample opportunities to engage in child-directed activities that promote social development.
Starting kindergarten is one of the biggest milestones in your child’s life. Our advanced curriculum develops fundamental reading skills as well as comprehension, writing, vocabulary and spelling. By the end of kindergarten the majority of our students have become fluent readers. Students also work on penmanship, practice math skills and have many opportunities to enjoy various types of literature. They are also exposed to advanced concepts in science and social studies which are integrated throughout the curriculum. Foreign language, bible, art and music appreciation are additional benefits to our program.
Kindergarten is a time for children to expand their love of learning, their general knowledge, their ability to get along with others and their interest in reaching out to the world. Our teachers use their experience and training to ensure that each child’s day is balanced with creative activities that help to develop thinking, reasoning, problem-solving and decision-making skills in small class environment.
